I m tired of all these 1 year tenders
What is the point it does not give a player a sense of securement, does this has something to do with the possible lockout ? All this does is say we need your services for 1 more year 1 or 2 players is ok but this is getting ridiculous . Someone please tell me the strategy behind this, I don’t like to knock my Buccaneers but this makes no sense
every rebuilding team signs their impact players to 1 year tenders

Like the 49ers, Jets, and Saints
Both the Saint and 49ers signed 1 of their impact players to big deals, and the Jets have been making deals like they the only team who knows their won’t be a lock out. Not every team has been signing their players to 1 year tenders like the bucs have been doing out of the norm. Plus Mark said that Tampa has the money to do what ever they want

Yes, some players (mostly the truly exceptional players we don't have) have been signed to new deals
The vast, vast majority of players are still on 1-year tenders and will be throughout this season. The Bucs are nowhere near to being unique or different on this.
The team is taking advantage of the way the current cap situation is devised

I would add to that ...
considering the impending lockout, I don’t see too many teams getting put on the hook for multi-year FA deals or tender offers

Vasilli....Welcome.
Glad you brought this to our attention.
However, RJBLITZ WHERE ARE YOU? You failed. Are you going to have competition for official news-breaker?

Lock Out
It has everything to do with the lockout. If theres no NFL next year and you resign C.Williams to a big contract. Hell be like 30 before he starts his new contract. Why would you do that no team is going to sign a 30 year old ta 5 year contract.
he's 28
with 2 NASTY knee injurys….he may have only lived for 28 years, but his body is like 32 already….

Only Williams can tell you that
you can rehab a knee to where it’s not a problem, I tore some ligaments in my knee and 8 months later is was as good as new some soreness every now and then. But Williams does not have a lot of mileage on him

But he's also missed basically 2 seasons of games so in that sense there's less wear and tear on his body
We can rebuild him
We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world’s first bionic man.
