Is there a good target out there for our team in free agency right now?
restricted free agents don’t count.
Leigh Bodden
Domenik Hixon? Darren Sharper, haha. If we draft a safety he could teach him the ropes for his first season while Sabby is relegated to special teams. Sharper will cost $$$ though.

Damn the man
That’s what you get for sitting on your hands

I would definitely take Lito

Lito and Aqib
sounds so nice. Like we have our oddly named cornerback club

P-Buc stands a good chance of coming back
did he burn any bridges on the way out?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I know I will catch hell for it
but I still want to give Sabby one more year
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
WITH a back up p lan in case he sucks, like Tjack was for Will Allen
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
He can have one more year as far as I'm concerned
but he has to compete for playing time and better man plays. I dont want to guarantee him one more year
Did you teach him how take good angles on tackles this offseason
because if he hasn’t learned that by now, he never will.

You have backyard(s)
Baller.
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
no thats a good point..
But that was the problem with Flip and Allen in 06, and then miraculously they started taking better an gles in 07
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
It may have been coaching, but Raheem cannot coach the secondary AND defense, AND team
Thats where Lake comes in, he is as good a DB coach as Raheem was
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I have never heard Sabby talk
but in my head I think of him as being a big meat head like “the situation” on Jersey Shore (who is coming to the venue during spring break btw) OMG!
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
My soft spot for him is just knowing Lynch took about 4 years until he was the star safety,
But lynch didnt take as many bad angles
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Plus Lynch
always knew where he was supposed to be in coverage. Sabby looks lost half the time.
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
All this makes me wonder
That how will we feel about Sabby in the next couple of years, there is not lying that he’s was the scapegoat players for most of the fans once gaines adam ( RIP) was gone
Well IMO, he only has 2010 to make a move and stand up
and your right Lee, Brooks was CONSTANTLY telling him where to line up
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
True
but he pretty much asked for it by being out of position all the time and letting big plays go over his head. Also taking poor angles on tackles where he completely whiffed and looked like a rank amateur.
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
The Saints game was one I cant get out of my mind, in the end when went high for a tackle
and he got into FG range easy. That could have cost us the game..
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
But then he makes these plays here and there too...
Those seem to stick with me longer.
No doubt he is great on special teams
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Which is weird btw
but I guess all he has to do on special teams is run fast and then crash into somebody. It definitely takes endurance and courage, but is doubtless easier than reading coverages.

welcome aldo, help yourself to some donuts:)
Im looking at the list now, I will post…
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Ive heard of walterfootball.com before, Im gonna have to add that to my folder...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Walter Football is good
It’s mostly know for it’s draft coverage but they do a decent free agency also
that would be the one benefit to an older player, teaching the ropes...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Let's do a little roll call.
To get a general idea of how many peeps are in this here town hall.

I see a ton of DL Free agents, but are any of them worth their weight?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
True, but which fodder will turn into he next Sytlez White..
Who had a very good 07
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
No idea on who could step in. Crowder is alright and a Wilkerson/Stylez platoon with a stout DT may work
Well I think our line last year with the exception of Moore is going to be all backups next year
I see two rookies starting next year
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
My question is who are we going to release
We know some people are not going to make the roster next year on D-line but who is the question, like do we keep Hovan, is Moore done, seriously I don’t know, only people guaranteed back are Roy and Kyle because they were draft picks last year
Whats crazy is he had a good 07 when he didnt even have a break from Arena league
then in 08 with no arena, he drops off
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
What does everyone think about Dewayne White coming back??
He made some splash plays for us..
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979

"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
Problem is, he was given every chance to become a starter, and couldnt produce.
Maybe at the price now he is worth it… But then again, were just talking back up stuff
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
If your trying to recreate the D line of yesteryear, you could only count on one guy to be like one of the originals.
Roy would man NT down like Culpepper did.
Then Suh or McCoy would be Sapp

Draft Day can not get here soon enough
Seriously, has there been a more important draft for the buc in the last 20 years, I’m a younger fan, only been fan since the mid 90’s but i honestly can’t think of a draft more important then this one
I agree, it is huge.
Remember how big the draft was in 05? This is 4 times.
Plus the fact its prime time, and only one round on day one!!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I think we have enough back up
The guys were have are quality back-ups but we need more guys that can produce at a starter level, i know i’m speaking something we already know but why bring in guy you know is prob only a back-up if you already have good guys who are back-ups
Better late than never....
I didn’t think we were getting started til 8.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"

Although I will be making use of my time and watching 24 simaltaneously (that is horribly mispelled I know)
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
I am getting ready to start watching 24, from the beginning!
I just caught up with LOST

1st was good. A lot different.
Third is the best.

Its great, you can watch some series on the computer
Or via tv with a playstation 3 or networkable BluRay player

Hope everyone has a blu Ray player.

how bad is that?

How is the picture quality of Netfix on an LCD tv compared to pic quality on computer?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Depends on the movie I'm streaming
If it’s something relatively new, it looks fine. If it’s an old movie, its passable, but not fantastic
Top 5 Free Agency / Draft needs
DT, DE, WR, S, QB (slightly kidding)
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
I can't believe they are keeping Lefty
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
the ONLY plus I cna see to that, is they may have a good relationship together (Freeman)
But he has a QB coach now, thats the guy he should be develping more with
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Seems like if Freeman has a really rough year
People might start calling for Lefty. If you have a crappy back up like Johnson and some other no-name than they would probably just roll with it
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
I'd rather have Vick......
ok that is a LIE.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
Beckles brought up Vick today
Has anyone heard, where is Ron? Ive only heard Ian lately
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Mine are DT, WR, DE, DB(Im just going to combine the two), RB
I know, RB, joke, but seriously, we have a bunch of good ones. Someday soon, we need to draft the next Dunn or Wilder
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Mine weren't in order.
It would be DT, S, WR, DE, QB.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
really? Safety over WR?
WR may be tied with DT. Ok not, but close
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I could go in either order
It depends on who is on the draft board. If a much higher rated WR is there, I go that way first. If a better Safety is there, go safety
It's all about the Defense
Most Tampa Bay fan I know can handle a meddling offense ( see Gruden Years) as long as we put a Defense on the field, so of course we as fans are going to choose to load the D up before O
3 weakest positions on the field are
DT, SS, QB followed by WR.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
Whatever you think of Freeman
or what he WILL be…at this point he is a weak link.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
But Olson
groomed Joey Herrington and Mark Bulger dude.

I think our DE’s we have right now are serviceable but we need up help in the middle like crazy. S and WR speak for themselves and we need a another CB opposite Aqib

no way...its a really big iphone. nothing more
Id love to have a really big iphone for 500

I'm hesitant to get it. the bigger models are needed to do anything
Plus the subscription for 3G service. I just have zero need for it. And it could act like a phone but I dont want to carry that thing around to the gym and stuff.
if you hit the z on your keyboard
it will automatically jump to the newest comments.

Dude the list of RFA's is so long
I could build a dream team. Not kidding.
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
If I didn't have to worry about compensation
I might would say Miles Austin or Vincent Jackson. Austin is young enough to keep around, Jackson will make a QB look good by catching everything near him with his big frame.
no
the playoff game V jack kicked a penalty flag late in the game which cost the chargers I think 15 yds.

and if they are RFA would you be willing to give up that pick?
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
I would give up one second and third for him though

Aw, there's the rub
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
I wouldnt give up any picks in this years draft.
Next years, after round three, who cares.
The talent after round two next year will be like round 4 or 5 normally
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
It's easy to say that now....
However, we still have a full year of college ball left. Many players make that leap from average to good their senior season.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"

O.J. Atogwe FS St.Louis Ram
We need more a SS then Free, but Ram’s only tendered him for Rights of first refusal and he might be able to play SS, though he is coming off of injury
Yeah RFA's tough, because there is a lot of guys i'd want, but not many I would match the asking price for....
I.E Steve Breaston.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
If you had to put a percent chance on it (40%, 75% etc)
What are the odds that Clayton gets cut this year?
10%
I mean…. they HAVE to fill the roster.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
You would think this is the year, with no cap hit,
but would that hit come next year? or is it just gone?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
If he was cut right now, as the CBA stands
there would be no cap hit. It falls in the year the player is released. I cant imagine a scenario where they could negotiate a CBA that retroactively dug up cap hits.
They think this new WR coach is going to resurrect his career...
and he wil have a great camp….
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Great Camp is like having a great day on the driving range.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
I dont know. I make sure to brag to my friends when
I get a 285 yard drive that stays down the center of the range…
or if I hit it over the net.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
He'll be in the best shape of his life, he'll work our harder than he ever has
He has a clear cut spot to being a #1 WR, He has to be a leader, he’s a veteran now, he has to live up to the paycheck etc.
That is what we’ll hear about him.
Josh Freeman will make enormous strides...
He will be come more of a vocal leader. He will lead a players only meeting. He’s going to see the field better. The game will slow down for him…
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
Dude I think him and Raheem must hang out a lot or something
Seriously. His loyalty to Clayton is mind boggling.
"Nobody in the game of football should be called a genius. A genius is somebody like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
Im going to agree there, that is another fault of Raheems I have fo und, he made a big mistake after game one aligning himself with Clay
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Rah has never been a Clayton guy...
as far as hanging out with him. He used to go out with Ronde as the DB’s coach, but now he doesn’t socialize with the players.

Honestlty think it is 50/50
He doesn’t make it out of training camp, I didn’t think we would bring back Dre Moore to the active roster this year but we did, though Clayton is on the thinnest ice of the whole team without a doubt

Just in time now that LeeCaz left.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
It's like a game day thread
which thanks for btw.. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy being able to talk to other Bucs fans in the game trends, especially since I don’t live in TB and deal with Panthers fan on Sundays. Actually have 2 separate 20 dollar bets going on with one.
1) Bucs make the playoffs within the next 2 years
2) Busc finish with a better record then Panther next year
You missed it, I just criticized Morris for his fixation with Clayton
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I think its a mistake. No one would be happier if 04 clayton came back.
its all mental, thats what ticks me off
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I don't really think so...
He’s just not that talented.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
I dont know what it is. I had a 13 minute conversation (seriously)
about Clayton with a buddy the other day. The talent has to be there somewhere, he just got complacent, lazy and developed bad habits. He’s in his head and he’s gotten to the point that he has a mental block. Like RIck Ankiel
Does anyone been thinking that we may have traded
For another Clayton.. seriously the more I look at the dudes numbers the more I wonder??
Plus he had 3 good years, not claytons One.
And I think Clayton would be fine somewhere else.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Not sure I agree.
There are a ton of guys who can have one shining season and fool people. It’s kind of like 80’s hit songs.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
Well I believe in Duemigs theory..
Gruden always had a receiver he liked for the year, and he got all the balls
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
Bryant is working out with the Bengals tommorow
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
Bryant would do good there with Ocho
although both egos, could be a prob. But Palmer can pass enough balls around for both of them
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
They also worked out TO....that would be so amusing.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
You could just say Palmer to a loud-mouth on any given play and be correct.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
No QB could handle that much ego
Seriously.. i know the Bengals are picking up a lot of other teams problem children… but that’s way 2 much ego at WR..
You know I was reading about Brown,
he gets good separation I read. I think a change of scenery is good for any player with problems
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I just made the comment
That Brown might = another clayton… gosh I hope that doesn’t turn out to be true
that doesn't help freeman at all, that's why i find it so disappointing they didn't go for boldin or marshall (baggage or not)
HIBERNATION NATION
Well, I don't think that was the goal.
They just want to hit a home-run for cheap….to do that you have to take random chances.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
But I would agree that it doesn't help him.
The thing that will help him the most is for Olsen to get a freaking clue.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
I think a good QB can make his receivers good too.
Sometimes the Receiver makes the QB.

I was watching the 09 @ATL game today, Stroughter made some really good catches last year.

Same with Stroughter.

the whole schmeal last year was the problem. The Zone blocking, to no zone, lose weight, to gain weight, etc

that may be a res ult of the whole messed up situation though.
that is a fault that cannot be repeated every again. That was embarrasing

oh there is no doubt questions will be answered this year....
1) Olsen, can he create an offense
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
I dont think the team will be without talent
I really think the Oline problem was, again, the mess up. First, Lose Weight, zone blocking, oh never mind..
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979

and depth improves big time with Zuttah a backup now

But there were times we passed where I wondered why we were passing so much. I felt there had to be a plan there. LIke, Lets just throw the ball and get Freeman some experience, were not competing anyways.

"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
So Im assuming by same offense it means no vertical component?
But more short to intermediate routes.
Well, Manning has 6 years left, he's obvious for any offense
Rodgers seems to get it finally. Im trying to think of some lesser known guys.
I'm actually probably in the minority and DEFINITELY as a Noles fan...
than I think he can succeed. However, I am biased.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
Ive changed my mind about Tebow a bit
I would no longer be surprised if he works out one day. I just think it will be some time before it does.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since 1979
That means nothing...honestly.
A lot of guys have grit in the NFL that don’t cut it. I just think he is immensely talented
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
He HAS to go to a place where the HC or OC will build an offense around him.
If he goes to Indy and runs the same offense, he fails. If he goes to Miami (or anywher) and they build around him, he succeeds.
I think within 3 years he is a starting quarterback
with average efficency.
"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
as a starter, backup, or another position?
I’ve heard some say the Pats might take a chance on him in the second or third if he is available.

If we look at another QB,
I will hand in my fan card for year… my friends still bring up every week my reaction to us drafting Freeman at our Draft Party ( long story short, I wasn’t happy)
Btw.. can’t stand NFL for making Draft a 3 day event… that was a Draft Sat was a national holiday to me
Yea.. I'm a college student so that helps
Only bad thing about NFL Draft that it come around finals times, other then that I’m golden

If we are going to be looking at guys coming up to 30,
Lito Sheppard, please. There are those out there I’m sure that will say, but E-Mack’s development… E-Mack’s development. Do we know E-Mack is going to be worth a crap? No. Still don’t know. He could develop into a decent player, but I don’t want him starting at one of my corner spots. CBs can last a long time and Sheppard could certainly be around in time for this thing to turn around.

"I have come that you may have life, and life to the max"
He's a nice player.... it depends on who's there at 35.
Golden Tate? Arrelious Benn? Demaryius Thomas? All of those guys have stud potential. Benn and Thomas are big, strong, physical wideouts that can fight through contact and block like hell. Tate is a greasy-fast little jitterbug…. kind of like Steve Smith, part deux.
Williams is shifty, can make guys miss, and has good speed, but he can’t block for crap and rarely makes it through initial contact.

He ran in a 1940's offense.
People have no clue how he’d fit in a Pro-Style system with a complex route tree. He could be great or he could just be a strong, fast guy who made plays as a result of deception/play-action in a wishbone offense. He certainly possesses nice physical tools.

That he thinks he better than Calvin Johnson, I don’t tend to believe that but there is no lying the man put up numbers in an offense that throw the ball maybe 10 times max a game
They threw it a little more than that I think,
but he certainly made plays when given the chance. How much of that was the system and how much was his ability? I think alot of it is his ability.
