If you are one of the Bucs fans who are upset the team hasnt made a move in Free Agency, you may want to rethink that stratagem. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports writes an interesting article about the 2010 Free Agency period, and what is going on with teams spending, make that OVER-spending for players past their prime instead of the normal prime free agents, which are absent from this years FA because of the Cap situation.
Normal Free Agents are NOT free agents, and so the only available FA are the ones most smart teams are staying away from.
My favorite Line...
Smartest move
Teams that sat out the first couple of days on the sidelines were the smartest of them all. Most of these players are on the market for a reason. There is no way you should be overpaying for good players with great money. Teams that draft well -- see Steelers and Colts -- don't need to dive into the free-agency pool -- or pond, as it may be.
