How the pick up of Jones changes Tampas draft
First of all I want to say thank you to Mark Dominik this pick up will be like the pick up of Jeff Faine , Kellen Winslow , & Antonio Bryant . As of right now we have depth at the secondary position I think that Sabby will move into the role that Will Allen had . Ever since Sean Jones senior season at Georgia i've watch him run down ball carriers and out smart quarterbacks , he is a good pick cause he played the cover two with the Browns and looked good doing it . What does this haft to do with the draft ? Lets look at the facts how many mock drafts have the bucs picking the linebacker position not many . Berry was the for sure pick if Suh or Mccoy was not available he was the only DB that was showing up in many mock drafts for the Bucs . With the pick up of Jones the only Defensive position to go with the first 3 picks will more than likely be the defensive tackle position .Thats right Bucs nation the players we get in the second round will probably go on to become some good offensive talent . Jones makes so much sense now we can get two guys in the second round to put around Josh Freeman . Every offseason move made by the bucs so far are moves that we do not want to address with the draft . The move with Reggie Brown should tell you that the Bucs are done picking up possession receivers . The move with Alston should tell you that Tampa did not want to waste a pick on depth at the linebacker position and special teams . This move with Jones should tell you that we just drafted our impact player in the secondary and Sabby gives us quality depth at the position . With the first 5 picks we might see the Bucs just address their offensive weapons and their pass rush . How do you think this pick affect the draft , or do you even think this pick up affect the draft

While I like the pick up, it will not be as big as Jeff Faine or Kellen Winslow Jr.. Those guys are top talent, Jones is a cog.
I agree with your logic, the Bucs are acquiring the position players they didn’t want to draft. It should open up opportunities for selecting the impact players we need in the draft. I know Dominik has made some mistakes, like Clayton and in retrospect McCown, but in general I like his choices. I still have no idea how he pulled off the Adams deal.

Fear the turtle
while this post has nothing to do with the terps I have to show respect to my fellow Maryland Fans I get to meet so few but to stay on subject Jones is already a good player bro playing under Morris and a pass rush he will be a pro bowl player every year When hes healthy he is on eof the best at his position his only knock is that he hit himself into injury and thats where Morris comes in to play

You do know we could still end up
picking Berry right. Though there is no (realistic) reason too, Stephen holder says there is still a chance.
I was the head of the Eric Berry bandwagon- Im sad to say its over.
Puffy Rod's Bandwagon continues forever.
New head of the Matthew Barnaby Bandwagon!!!
There are other positions of need that should be addressed
unless you want Berry to play CB for a while first. He would probably do well. CB Joe Haden has to be considered if the 2 DT are gone. Gotta be DEF heavy at least early on.
I would steer WAY clear of Dez Bryant. Maybe even choose C.J. Spiller if you want to help the offense. The DE and LB should really be addressed before choosing a S unless that wrecking ball Taylor Mays is somehow still there in Round 2.

I like Spiller, if he can stay healthy. Big if.

Double dog doubt it
If Suh and McCoy are gone, which I tend to doubt as well, I think we trade down a few. Load em up baby!

I think the Bucs signing Jones
Is a clear message that they have no intentions of spending that high of a pick on a safety. And this of course is just my assumption, but I have a feeling they will do anything to get Suh. i.e trade with the Rams.

So here is my question...
I log onto Yahoo tonight and I read top 5 free agents finding it difficult to find new homes. Granted these 5 are on the downside of their careers possibly but could still contribute while we take the next 2 years to fill their positions… The 5 are TO, Westbrook, Faine, Porter and Sharper… Don’t think we need Mawae or Westbrook.. but I certainly think the remaining 3 demand a serious look.. I would also hope for a serious look at Vick (who I’d definitely rather on our sidelne than play against… and the rumor is he’s going to Carolna)

I would rather draft Colt McCoy than sign Vick.
No to Vick, just no
No to Sharper, we just got Jones to fill our SS void.
No to Westbrook, hes too crippled and we are good at RB
No to Faine, dont need him
Maybe to T.O., but only if we pay for him at his last season production rate.
Maybe to Porter, see T.O. answer.

I'd rather play Vick
because we have had much success against him. I think he is massively overrated.

no hes not overrated Tampas D just made him look overrated as we use to do to a lot of QBs Vick use to be scared to play us

He is over rated
As a #1 pick he has been an average QB and less than average person that didn’t live up to the contract he signed.
It really affects the draft
Because we dont have to pick a safety high to compete with Sabby. We just have to focus on the Dline first and then WR, CB OT and LB
trade #3 for brandon marshall, get a DT in the second, shipley if he's there in the 3rd
i thinkk this is a good pickup
I don't like that trade scenario for Marshall
but the previously mentioned trade involving the 1st round swap (our #3 for their #11) and a later round choice (Round 7) for Brandon Marshall is reasonable.
Someone just need to keep an eye on him for a while. Make sure the guy you bunk him with at training camp is a character guy.
