Report: Bucs sign Safety Sean Jones
Multiple sources are reporting that Jones came to a contract agreement with Tampa today after leaving Tennessee empty handed yesterday. We have no information at this time as to the terms of the contract but as details come in we will be sure to get them to our loyal and faithful readers as quickly as we hear about them.
Welcome to the team Mr. Jones. Welcome back to special teams Mr. Piscitelli.
NOTE: As reported here by LeeCaz, the Buccaneers have officially agree to terms with safety Sean Jones, according to Stephen F. Holder of The St. Petersburg Times. - Paul Mueller

Though I say this with loads of sorrow,
Here comes SUH! I mean McCoy! Shoot, which one will we get?! And my man crush with Berry will only be a crush. ;(
Don't worry Buc It...
Berry wasn’t right for you anyway : )

I'm starting to cry...
This is soo awful. Haha
Me and you-
I hate you Sean.

Funny enough, Sean Jones was a good special teamer last year. Not sure where the Bucs intend to play him, but he’s a better fit for SS than FS.
This is a nice pick up, and lends some credence to the Bucs trading down now if Suh or McCoy is not there.
The next best player not a safety is not worth the 3 pick.
Top Draft needs 2010: DT, WR, DE
Maybe they pick up Marshall?!
Just kidding. It proves that the Bucs will go for a DT( and every excepts them to get one) in the first round. In the second round, it frees up a pick. Maybe we could trade back in and get a WR like Tate or stay at our #35 and pick up Benn. But on the other side, WTH do we do with the other pick?!?!?!?!?!
I'd love to trade our 2 2nd rounders to move up to get Golden Tate.
Hey man! D'you touch my drumset?
Golden tate will be there-
he won’t cost much to move up especially 2 2nd’s.

Almost every mock draft I have read has Tate going 1st round

This is a definate no
There is still a chance Tate falls to us. We need those 2nd rounders, and if Tate isn’t there there is always more options. We could always take, Benn,Damian Williams, or Lafell.

Mardy Gilyard,
IS THAT NAME THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND? GOSH.

Gilyard's slow forty time has firmly put him as a likely 3rd rounder.
Maybe late 2nd, but definitely not at 35 or 42. No thank you.

Thomas from GT.
With his injury and the stigma from playing wide out in the triple option, teams will pass out of dumb fear. If he’s available in late first, I would trade our 35th pick and next year’s 3rd for him.
5 picks out of the first 100 in a draft saturated with talent. Yes, I'm optimistic.
I agree about Thomas....
I like Thomas. He is BIG, & he has really good hands, & he has decent speed. We need a big WR for our boy Freeman

And the 2nd wave of FA has started
Knee jerk reaction from fans were fun, I wonder if there will be any other moves the Bucs make before the draft
"I've got nothing to prove,"- Warren Sapp
My best guess for top 3 Bucs picks assuming we don't trade up or down
1. Gerald McCoy (No way Suh drops to us)
2. Brandon Spikes (Can he take Quincy Black’s spot over at Sam LB?)
2. Dexter McCluster (pundits have him in later rounds but get him here)
Oh yeah, BTW, Sean Jones was a good pick up though still doesn’t negate the awful offseason. We better be serious players in FA next year

I think
Suh will drop to us and I’d allow Spikes to compete and probably take the MLB spot.
HIBERNATION NATION
I would let Ruud play SLB then,
Think about it- Ruud, Spikes, Hayes, potential to be one of the BEST LB corps in the NFL.

Not a fan of Ruuuuuuuuuuuud?
He just wants to get paid, like everybody else. I’m wit having Ruud/Spikes/Hayes – man that would be sweet

Well... how about Black/Spikes/Hayes instead...
and let Ruud play on special teams with Sabby?
by Cracker Ball on Mar 16, 2010 10:32 PM EDT up reply actions
The Bucs first 4 picks....
1st round: Suh or McCoy
2nd round: Thomas GT WR or Tate ND WR Or Jerry Hughes DE TCU (If still there)
2nd round: Then WR See above if those are taken then WR Williams from USC
3rd round: My boy SS Myron Rolle if you don’t like him, Jones from LSU or Allen (South Florida)
What do you think?

Problem with Jones
From what I’m reading is a history of injuries. Statistics seem nice but not overwhelming. How much of an actual upgrade to the SS position will he be?
Relive the shocking NOOOOOOOO of April 25 2009 at Witty's Draft Review and laugh laugh laugh...
His injuries happen the first couple of years I think
He has been fairly healthy the past couple of years if I’m not mistaken. He did missed 4 games in 2008

Ruud is very good
But when our DT’s let people run on them you’d expect nothing else. When the ravens had a hole at NT, Ray Lewis looked average until they got Ngata. Give Ruud a good Dline and we’ll see
Or how about the same D scheme for a whole year....

All aboard the Eric Berry Bandwagon-
Was interesting how quickly Tampa and Washington scouts followed Berry to the training room, where they waited outside.
