BUCSHOTS: Jones close? Doug Williams/Byron Lefwich, & More
Stephen Holder says the Bucs are serious about acquiring Sean Jones from the Eagles.
We've been hearing this for a few days now, so what is it all about? Is it a Brandon Marshall type rumor, for is this something everyone can see happen? Can YOU see it happening? Steve Duemig is saying its a done deal according to Bucem Reader PasadenaPadre....
Rick Stroud, also of the Times, says the Steelers are hot after Leftwich.
Exactly who is lining up at One Buc place to stop him from leaving? He did lead us to the number 4 offense and made Michael Clayton look like he was a real receiver!
Ever wonder exactly how strong Doug Williams arm was? Check this Video out, where a flick of the wrist goes over 50 yards downfield.
He barely puts any arm into it and it flys.
Bucpower.com features an in depth look at the original 1976 draft, the first one ever, and the one that brought us Lee Roy Selmon.
Trading for Steve Spurier?, what were we? An Expansion team?

If we can get anything for Lefty
It would be awesome. I think he is an above average back up though and as long as he is under contract I see no reason to let him go to Pittsburgh for nothing.
I also disagree that J.J. is just as capable as Lefty. If Freeman got hurt and J.J. was the back up I would kiss our season goodbye, but I think Leftwich could still move the ball in a friendly offense.

I do too... Leftwich needs to go
If we can get SOMETHING for him – I say we do it. Never liked him anyway and we can lose his salary along with him. So now we need a third QB?

would it be worth trying to get Limas Sweed?
Former second round pick who has good speed for his size.He was good at Texas but he has struggled in Pitt(including a drop in the AFC Championship that would have been a TD). He has a lot of potential, but do you guys think he is worth it?

I think JJ could do it though.
He was in an unfriendly system last year and got messed up. Now with Sears back, us probably getting some decent Wr’s, FIXING OUR OFFENSIVE BOOK, and getting Caddy back, our Qb’s could floruish in the system. BTW, we are also fixing our defense. So that also helps the Qb.
Pssss...
I heard a rumor that the bucs are going to run the wildcat and they are going to put J.J at Qb in it. I hear this new “wildcat” offense will remove Josh Freeman from the bucs forever.
/Take it with a grain of rice.
Continuing head of the Eric Berry and Puffy Rod bandwagon.
New head of the Matthew Barnaby Bandwagon!!!

That kind of trade (Sweed for Lefty) seems to be good for us both
as we need a WR and we need rid of Leftwich. Get ’em on the horn right now and lets do this.
If Ben goes to jail...
Can we have Lefty back?
With the 18th pick of the 2010 NFL Draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select Florida QB Tim Tebow. (not a RB!)
