Sigh.....i thought about going with another topic. Maybe where you tailgate. Who you tailgate with. What kind of games you like to play at tailgates (I'm a cornhole and ladder golf guy). If you're a tent guy/TV-satellite guy.
However, it's mid-day, and I'm hungry again, so let's circle back around and take another look at some delicacies that folks like to serve up and enjoy at tailgates. When the wife and I get together with friends for both gameday parties/tailgates and just Friday night dinners, we like to put together a spread of Hors d'oeuvres/finger foods. As such, I thought I'd present a couple of favorites from the wife's recipe book again. These are certainly not complicated and are easy to make at any tailgate or party.
1. Hidden Valley Bacon & Cheddar Dip
-1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
-1 container (16 oz) sour cream
-2 cups finely-shredded cheddar cheese
-1 jar Hormel bacon pieces (or a comparable amount of cooked bacon, broken into pieces)
-Triscuit thin crisps
Mix sour cream and seasoning. Stir in 3/4 jar of bacon pieces. Stir in 1-1.5 cups shredded cheese. Top the dip with remaining bacon pieces and shredded cheese (as much or as little as you like). Chill for 30 minutes and serve with Triscuit thin crisps (or whatever chips you prefer).
-1.5 cups grape jelly
-2 tablespoons lemon juice
-2 bottles of chili sauce
-1 bag frozen meatballs
Put the aforementioned contents into a crockpot and mix together. Turn the crockput to the high setting and cook until meatballs are heated throughout.
They are addictive. That is all.
So let's hear it......give us some recipes to share, Bucs Nation.
