Nationwide, bloggers and writers alike are making light of Tampa Bay Buc HC Raheem Morris. Many feel that Morris' claim that the Bucs(4-2) are the "best team in the NFC" is wishful thinking. At first glance, it seems the people laughing are right. But looking at the records of other teams getting love and respect in the NFC tells a different story.
The New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons, both( 5-2), have been mentioned by many as being the best in the NFC. I really don't see much difference in the wins the Falcons have versus the Bucs. The both teams have beat mediocre and "bad" teams. The main difference is that the Falcon played a closer game against the Steelers and beat the Saints. Hardly enough proof to say they are any better than the Bucs, in my book. Taking a look at the Giants, they have beat a bunch of bad teams as well. The only team with winning record the Giants have beat are the Houston Texans. If Mike Smith or Tom Coughlin had made the same claim as Raheem there would have been little or no talk in the media. I guess the Bucs are still destined to be defined by last years record for the time being. I'm not sayin the Bucs are the best team in the NFC. But they arent far off and definetly should be in the conversation. Ugly wins and all.
