When I saw todays injury report for the Bucs vs Saints, I let out a sigh of relief. A big one. Pierre Thomas AND Reggie Bush are out. I think our defense is a little relieved to be more focused on their pass. Randall Gay is out. Tracy Porter is out with a head injury. Rookie Jenkin's is playing where Sharper usually dominates at.
With that said, establishing the run early in the game SHOULD not be a problem for Tampa. Previously, we've gone against good run defense teams in the Panthers and Steelers', where low productivity is acceptable. No one wan't to grind a back out. BUT, going up against a poor run def as our selves, except they can't burn us today with their lame stable, we ought to be hitting the run feverishly. Yes one could argue, Well.. faine is out... Lablount is out.. Well Kareem is over his groin injury. If Caddy can get the ignition started today, he needs to push it hard. For he'll have Huggy to spell him. They can work together as a team to zap the Saint's d. I think that will be a big key to our success, control the ball and keep Brees off the field. We just need to sustain our running drives. And also with Gay and Porter out, our #2 and Slot man can get some leverage out there... Something to think about...
If our running game is smashed by the Saints, changes will have to be made... -From Caddy Homer
