Now Keeping In Mind That
I have wanted the Bucs to start Josh Johnson since they drafted him late in the 2008 draft when i used to post on here a lot so seeing him take over the offense late in todays game made me feel good about rooting for the underdog. For all of the time leftwhich was in he was 6/17 for 22 yards. shitty eh? Josh Johnson came in and moved the offense. He had two first downs and more total yards than Leftwhich IN HIS FIRST TWO PLAYS. On his second play in he showed his 4.4 speed and scrambled for a gain of about 15. Im gonna go ahead and ask anyone on here if they think either of the two other qbs on our roster could run for 15 yards at will. Im gonna opt to say no to that question for being black, Leftwhich is slow as a hanging shit just like his throwing motion and they call Freeman mobile but hes not even in JJs league when it comes to speed. Minus the goal line stand bye the giants defense JJ moved the ball effectively and threw smart passes to OPEN recievers instead of trying to force the ball. Has anyone noticed Leftwhich tries to get rid of the ball as hes going down? He dosent try to throw it away he tries to get it to a reciever thats normally 20 yards away. Thats happened 2 weeks in a row now where he tries to get the ball away while going down and throws a pick. Now Morris has said JJ is the perminant backup (WTF THAT MAKES NO SENSE) what other coach in the NFL goes "ah hell my starter didnt play well last week lets skip the second string and start our 3rd string"???????????????? Really? What kind of assbackward logic is that? My question is this. our season at this point is looking pretty dismal, whats it going to hurt us to give Josh Johnson a shot? let him start a few games. You can easily recognize the difference in how smooth the offense runs with JJ in compared to Leftwhich. So check it lemme know whatchu think and vote lemme know why or why not you think JJ should or shouldnt start.

You want Lefty? Don’t we need a spark with some young talent?
hellooooooooooo?
you guys are saying not much we can do even if peyton were back there becuase of the penetration but thats why i pointed out speed JJ is fast as hell with a collapsing pocket a good smart fast qb can get the hell outa dodge and make things happen thus creating josh johnson stardom

Dude
this is not Madden. Most of the players on the defense are just as fast as Johnson. He will get crushed and injured if he scrambles more than a few times a game.
agreed with buccanator
why are you afraid to get our qbs crushed whatr we honestly gonna lose from that and im not going with madden fantasys here because if i reall was he rated like a 52 which is BS just like the rest of the ratings this year. HOWEVER thats not the point the point is his speed is good enough to get out of the pocket and get past the LB core for 10-15+ almost everytime as long as theres just a little open space. theres only a handfull of qbs in the NFL with that kind of quickness that are actually qb and not glorified rbs with decent arms

JJ Johnson got to play instead of Leftwich
I know Freeman is the “Franchise” Qb, but leftwich wasnt hurt, He just played terrible so JJ got his chance to play and not Freeman. To me…that says Morris is giving him a shot to out perform Leftwich. I dont think JJ’s performance was worthy of a guranteed start. But if Leftwich continues to play like last week dont worry he will get his chance, from todays game it looks like Morris isnt going to throw Freeman out there for awile.
The whole thing about leftwich being black was kind of funny…a little narrow minded, but a big reason he is not mobile is becuase of the the injury he got in college at Marshall. Remember the classic game of his Oline carrying him.
You are right....
I’ll start by saying that I am behind Raheem Morris 100%. People are reacting like the sky is falling, now don’t get me wrong…this game was easily the worst game I have ever watched. But its not time to pressure anyone to make any rash decisions. That is besides replacing Byron with JJ. I was trying to support Leftwich early on and he did OK. He rebounded alright after two early picks last week, but he is one dimensional. We need to test our young talent, and they have the potential to bring more to the position.
This was the third week. We have to keep are heads.
Sometimes
i feel good with Leftwich at QB, but other times, where he just LAUNCHES it, is hilarious. He seems to have zero touch. He either throws it SO hard, it spirals into the ground, or the receivers find a way to hold on.
Josh Johnson had some good touch, but man, did you see him in the redzone?
…as Chris Burman would say…: “ZING”
JJ did the same thing in the red zone.
He ripped three passes in there instead of taking something off.

he'll get better with time with that though
you could tell JJ was a little uneasy so close to the goal line but hell need game experience to find out what works when you get close like that take away the goal line drive and JJ was 4-6 38 yards 15 yards rushing on one drive. point being his open field awareness (our 20 to their 20) looks good and gives us somthing to hope for he just needs to work at his goaline awareness

Quarterbacs
Leftwich has absolutely no busniess being a starting Quartebck, and the simple fact that it took Morris this long to sit him shows his inexperience. Split the time with Johnson and Freeman, what could it hurt? Let them gain as much experience as possible. It’s obvious Byron is a dead end for us and frankly I’m tired of watching him, it’s like we have Fat Albert as a QB, at lease with the Joshes I can watch with some kind of excitement.
Leftwich at Quarterback was a subject
that I brought up was a bad idea after the first week. I got crucified for saying bad things about him. It is amazing how after 2 weeks, everyone is saying the same thing I did. How things change.
Your not the only one
But after his first 2 games it was hard to complain, but I still insisted he wouldnt keep up at that pace. See my post before the season started of season predictions with a poll.
Anyway it wasnt hard to predict Leftwich was going to be bad.
Alot of people thought differently
This week will be interesting to read what everyone is thinking……
I too experienced the same...
Some people just put hopes in things that just doesn’t deserve them sometimes. Leftwich is never going to get a team to the SB and it seems 31 other teams had already figured that out but the Bucs. Unfortunately now we have all this controversy each week over a guy that likely couldn’t and shouldn’t even start in the CFL or the UFL for that matter in my opinion. Nevertheless their will be people that back him to the bitter end and make excuses for him no mater how bad he SUCKS!

You don't split time with QB's at the NFL level.
It accomplishes nothing. Neither guy gets any consistency going and is constantly looking over their shoulder.
