Bucs should kick themselves for letting Matt Bryant go
After watching only 2 quarters of the 2009 NFL season, Tampa Bay should be kicking themselves for keeping Mike Nugent and letting go of Matt Bryant. Matt always got the job done and missed very few. I don't understand why a guy as accurate as Bryant got rewarded by being released. Matt holds several franchise records and is one of the most accurate kickers to play in the last ten years. And of all people, he was replaced by Mike Nugent...

NUGENT IS TERRIBLE
HE will be cut by tomorrow. He is horrible. He messed that game up with his sorry kicking. He gets first one blocked and misses wide right right before the half. Score should have been 10 or 13 to 13. I will sign one and pay him if i haveto watch nugent another game.
Bryant was injured...
so no.
However, that doesn’t mean they should have kept Nugent

You need someone to kick no matter how bad Nugent is
He was the only guy we had on the roster that was healthy enough to kick. Now that we have enough tape on nugent, CUT HIM TOMORROW! Shoot , do you think we can borrow chad ochocinco? he can kick and shoudl fill all of those empty seats at Raymond James
Im not voting in this one
Hindsight is 20/20. I was clearly in the group that thought Bryant should be kept, but if you dont play all preseason, I completely understand the decision that was made. Doesnt mean I agree with it

Hey that is how things go sometimes.....
Morris and Dominik had to make a decision……..some you win some you lose…..they will improve on the kicking game and the other areas that need work
C'mon...
Stevens misses a block and a person comes in untouched and that is Nugent’s fault?? Plus a 46 yard FG attempt is not a gimmie. Only 4 players in NFL history have had a 100% season.
The block was not his fault, you're right
but what about the preseason? Im not asking for 100% season, but I would like to see him make more than he misses. Thats a fair enough request, which at this point he is very close to not doing.
Fun (not really) Fact: Counting preseason, over his last 12 games, he is 14 of 24 on field goal attempts. Thats 58%. Do with that what you will.

58% ain't good....
that’s for sure. But I really think he will be a good kicker for the Bucs. He has an 80% career average.
6 for 11 with the Bucs so far
54.5% (counting preseason). Can he turn it around? You’d think so. He should be regressing towards the mean which is approx 78% if I recall correctly. But he’s off to an auspicious start.
