Sears career in jeopardy

Per PFT -

The expected battle between Arron Sears and Jeremy Zuttah for the starting left guard position in Tampa might be over before it ever starts, due to the lingering effects of a concussion.

According to Pewter Report, Sears has not been cleared to participate in the team’s non-contact (eye roll) Organized Team Activities.

It’s unclear whether the injury occurred while Sears was playing football, and whether it happened during the 2008 season or during a more recent non-contact (eye roll) minicamp.

Per Pewter Report, neurological testing has not been encouraging, and Sears’ career could be in jeopardy.

Sears, a second-round pick in the 2007 draft, started 16 games as a rookie and 15 games last year.

Wow.........we do have depth, but we had a great O-Line in store and getting guys reps together all last year and this offseason was a must. Cmon Sears, we need ya buddy

Just great. Thank the football gods Zuttah is a solid replacement, but I am hoping Sears will come around

OK, time to breathe a little sigh of relief....maybe

Coach Morris addressed Sears situation today and stated that this is a personal and private matter but that he is concerned about the big guy. This is good that it appears Sears situation may not be about the post concussion syndrome he has been linked to having. However, Coach didn’t say it was a sure thing if and when Sears would be back.

That was a great job by former GM Bruce Allen to pick up another Guard even though we had two...

Thanks for the info from PR, an awesome source for info on the Bucs.

We do wish you well Sears, get well soon Bro, and I feel very comfortable with Zuttah in there.

Just think, last year if we would have gotten Brett Favre, maybe WE would have lost 4 of last 5 games of the season like the Jets.....DOH!!!

there's been a lot of rumblings

that it might be a psychological issue rather than something concussion-related, though i wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being something involving both.
