enough is enough
I an really sick of all this John Gruden bashing! He was our coach win or lose we also gave up alot for him. why? wile everyone was always saying Gruden won with Dungys bucs no that was Grudens bucs, if gruden's asst. coach made the suberbowl was it Grudens raiders? yes they used the same playbook exactlly the same players, what if he would have stayed in oakland
would the bucs have gone to the superbowl and won it the way they did? i dont think that would have happened, he also took oakland to the afc championship game when the tuck rule let brady and new england win there superbowl,
no tuck rule and chucky would have had himself a dyansty in oakland, now dont get me wrong it was time for him togo. man he would piss me off but look at him he was even more pissed than i was,
now thats said
i have no clue whats going to happen this season, but come on bucs fans really ya can say we r goin 4-12 this season thats a team u want to rout for? people who r browns fans still stand up for there team, i guess not ya i've seen some close games and blowouts that wern't supposed to happen, so lets surprise the country
GET A SUPERBOWL SWAGGER AGAIN I THINK THAT RAP SONG WORKED
2002
one more side note NO MORE EAGLES<STEELERS< bars i go to get wings often all of a sudden e-a-g-l-e-s i sick and tired of it they need to stay home a get a house party to watch that crap

Gruden’s fired and this excuse has been going on for months/maybe years. Remember that’s not the only reason the Glazers fired gruden though.
"Yeah, I am not the old annoying guy next door. Heck, I don't even know who i am"
uhhh...
Nice spelling. Grammar’s impressive too.
I’m not gonna “bash” Gruden, but you said it yourself.
“wile everyone was always saying Gruden won with Dungys bucs no that was Grudens bucs, if gruden’s asst. coach made the suberbowl was it Grudens raiders?”
Assuming I’m understanding your English, then the answer is “Yes.” That’s exactly what happened. Gruden, who was billed as an offensive genius, came to Tampa and took Kiffen’s Bucs (we can leave Dungy out of it if that makes you feel better) all the way to the big show where he played his own team and destroyed them with the help of savvy players on our defense at the time (see Lynch, Brooks, Barber, et.al.). The turn of events was incredibly fortunate, and that became more and more apparent as consecutive seasons unfolded and we got to see what this “offensive genius” was really capable of, namely predictable running plays and short passes on third down. You can blame that on a lack of talent that he was working with, but that’s the fault of Gruden and our ex-GM.
I for one liked Gruden as a character. His scowls, his self-depricating humor in his press conferences… But bottom line is he never created the explosive offense he was meant to. Closest he got was last year I thought when Bryant had such a monster season. It’s a shame the defense collapsed and ultimately led to his dismissal.
Anyway, water under the bridge. Time to move on and give Morris a go. If you like Gruden so much, wait till 2010 when some other team picks him up.
im a 72 year old man
my grammar get over yourself, woman – now dont get me wrong it was time for him togo. i said
he was what he was he just was not for us wrap ur head around that one woman, grammar u really sound like my ex wife.
i’m just saying i dont want him to fall in the catorgy of a bad coach, i really like morris in pc’s and it was really time for change maybe pass-run-pass, insted of run, run, pass
sorry i said u sound my ex nobody is that much of a <unt
Ok, dude.
I get it now. You’re 72 and you hate your ex-wife. I suppose in some alternate reality that totally explains your inability to construct a comprehensible post.
The Truth about who took whos team to the SuperBowl
While Tony Dungy and Rich McKay had a lot to do with the SuperBowl win, it was Jon Gruden who came in and envergized NOT ONLY the offense but the Defense too. Lets not forget, Our defensive clout was running out in 2000 and 2001. People were saying were not the same defense. We couldnt get off the field on 3rd downs, we gave up tons of rushing yards too. Jon Gruden, by Monte’s own admission, was the key architect in moving Shelton Quarels over to Mike LB. We all know how he did there.
Then, lets go over how Gruden won with Dungy’s team???
Over half of the offense was replaced! In fact, there was never more of a one season turn over on any side of the ball in Bucs History!
Look at the differences in personnel from 01 to 02
WR
Keyshawn, J.Green, R.anthony? to Keyshawn, McCardell and Jurivicious? are you kidding me?
TE Dave Moore and Patrick Hape to Ken DIlger and Ricky Dudley? DUNGYS TEAM?
now add on Romen Oben, Kerry Jenkins, Mike Pittman (only had one of the best superbowl rushing efforts ever)….
Look, there is no doubt they had their fingerprints on the team, and Jon Gruden had the class after the NFC Championship win AND the Superbowl to give credit to Dungy, but the fact is, He came in here, energized the offense, and Defense, and put in an offense that the new players of which over half were his bought into around mid season.
Tony Dungy did not win the superbowl for Jon Gruden, but we wouldnt have won it without him either.
..and with the 17th Pick of the 2009 draft, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers remove the Doug Williams Curse!
Funny comment about Eagles/Steelers bars...
…I love in Tampa for almost my entire life and seen tons of Steelers’ fans in bars everywhere around the bar area on Sundays during football season. It’s crazy. Them and Ohio State. I have to commend them for getting together so well outside of their home cities, but DAMN!!!

And I'm with you on the Gruden bashing...
…people can say he won with Dungy’s players all they want, but the point is he’s the one that won it all. I love Dungy, but I also greatly respect the fact that Gruden led us to the promised land. People can bash all they want, but he was captaining the ship when we brought home the trophy.

You have to respect Dungy
though for what he did, he at least had some consistency in taking us to the playoffs all the years he was here. Gruden never got the chance because of all the picks and money we wasted in bringing him in. I like gruden, but i don’t love him. He was a good on field coach but off the field, he was not very adaptive let’s say.
"Yeah, I am not the old annoying guy next door. Heck, I don't even know who i am"
excellent point,
and that was his downfall. Remember Don Shula, who loved to run the ball with Czonka and Morris and Kiik. But then he got Dan Marino and had fast receivers in Duper and Clayton and he became air Shula! He was able to adapt his system to the players he had.
With Gruden going to MNF, I almost wonder if Gruden isnt the next John Madden? at the time , Madden was youngest coach to win a Superbowl! He has the knowledge to be a great one in the booth. Im curious to see the first MNF game.
...UM, So your saying in SuperBowl 37, Jon Gruden used Tony Dungys Team to beat Jon Grudens team while Tony Dungy lost his 4 straight playoff game with Jim Moras Team....???
