We’ll just have to wait and see… could be smoke and mirrors.. It’s funny because nobody has said jack about Freeman all week, it’s been the Sanchez love triangle..

I can’t blame them if they go that route, if so they obviously don’t value JJ and McCown which makes sense considering Gruden brought them in. They could be royal dummies…

Take it easy....

You should never totally believe the rumors within 24hrs of the draft. Many teams do that to mislead other teams in the way that they set up their draft board to hopefully throw them off their game on draft day.

If by any chance the Bucs are insane enough to go Freeman I hope Morris and Domink are prepared to be one and done if he is a bust. I would surely hope that they are smarter than that put stranger things like that have happened. Ditka giving up all draft picks for Ricky Williams. Ditka was fired the next year. If all else fails, hopefully their is some truth somewhere in that rumor about the Glaziers wanting Bill Cower next year or at least a winning coach.

i dont see us trading up

i mean what are we going to give up, our 1st and 3rd, we’ll surely be destined for 6-10 then, we need immediate help on defense… Any offensive pick in the first round would be a reach, Harvin or not

That...

…and giving up our 1st and 3rd won’t get us to move up very far. Look at those point charts. Adding a 3rd doesn’t gain you a whole lot of spots.

I just looked it up...

…#19 is worth 875 points and our 3rd rounder is worth 185. Basically we could only get to #15 trading up. It’s worth 1,050 points. Not awful, but not worth losing our 3rd to do considering our 2nd is already gone.

I believe that if it had to be QB I would rather it be Pat White than i would Freeman. He may be small but at least he is mobile.

by Tye on Apr 24, 2009 6:08 PM EDT reply actions

And he'd cost us a lot less...

…since we could get him much later.

I'm not saying I want White...

…I’m just saying, I would rather have White at 4th round money than Freeman at 1st.

if they do draft Freeman

they might as well cut JJ and McCown lose, i mean why not… i was looking forward to watching Bradford, McCoy, and Tebow closely this season….

You know whats annoying

Next year there will be much better QBs available and Freeman is not enough of an upgrade over McCown and JJ. I’d rather us go 6-10 and get a top 10 pick with the QBs we have than go 7-9 with a QB who wont be as good as the next years crop IMO.

i guess Raheem

is in love with him and the size he possesses….

i would say the fans would be willing to give the team a mulligan this year considering the brutal schedule and opportunity to draft a franchise QB next year, BUT the releasings of Dunn and Brooks make it a bit tougher considering there is a faction of the fan base that will expect at least a 9-7 season….

I CAN’T WAIT TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY DO

p white 4th round money

for first round freeman! insane! freeman is a better all around QB than p! now if they draft freeman ( which i know they will since josh and raheem were both at k state together)then i say get jj and griese out! i thought jj was a terrible pick under gruden to begin with.look out here comes josh!

Don't buy it

this is Florio trying to add fuel to his “Leftwich is a smokescreen” theory…. I don’t really believe anything comming from random league sources 24 hours prior to the draft. There’s no doubt Freeman is a possible pick at 19 or in a trade up.. but there five oher directions this team can go with this first round pick and this report doesn’t change any of the uncertainty.

by AP-Pirate on Apr 25, 2009 3:01 AM EDT reply actions

thats a definite

viable scenario as well, i mean Florio has pushed several agendas in the past….
