The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed S Will Allen to a one year deal worth as much as $2.35 million. Now that's a nice back-up salary!!!

Keep in mind they do have to meet that minimum salary cap number.

I'm okay with this.

You’re right it’s a nice salary for a backup, but Allen is a solid backup with a lot of on the field experience and he’s a solid special teamer. I’m glad we could keep him around.

I'm not ok with this...

Not because Will Allen isn’t a good back up, but because they don’t think Phillips is coming back. I think the wheels are coming off of the off-season bus (if they haven’t already) and Dominik is in full fledged panic mode. We missed on Cassel (Instead we spend more than KC did on Cassel on Winslow…smart move…), we missed on Haynesworth, we missed on Cutler, we missed on Dawkins, We missed on Scott, We missed on Vilma, we will miss on Phillips, we missed on Derrick Brooks.

Who else will we miss on? Housh? Dominik better be in panic mode. He wasn’t ready for this job and esp. not for free agency. He has grossly underestimated other teams. Absurd.

I don't think Allen affects Phillips...

Allen plays the other safety spot. He is Jackson’s backup and started with Phillips a few years ago. I would imagine – okay I HOPE – they are still trying to get Phillips to return.
