Blogger Q&A - Panthers Edition
Hello Buc 'em, Jaxon here with Cat Scratch Reader. Recently I've been doing the Q&A thread versus the formal 5 question Q&A with some of the other blogs and its gone pretty well so I thought lets keep it going.
I'm here to answer any questions you might have about the Carolina Panthers and their match-up with your Bucs this weekend. I hope your 1-10 record hasn't dampened your love of football NFL style and that you keep watching and talking about your favorite team.
The good news for you is I'm almost 100% positive 3rd year QB Matt Moore will start due to Jake Delhomme's broken finger. Moore started three games his rookie season at the end of 2007 and went 2-1, one being against the Bucs. In our view the kid could hardly do much worse than Delhomme and his 18 INT's on the season. It's too bad it took an injury to pry the guy from the starting line-up as he should have been riding pine a few weeks back. By the way, we Panther fans have a new theory as to why Fox wouldn;t bench Delhomme that you can find here (humorous).
So lets hear your questions Buc fans, either I or one of my loyal readers will give you an answer. Good luck on Sunday.
Oh and can I get some Recs for this post to keep it near the top?

Haha
That link is hilarious. I’m not sure that we are too lucky to be facing Moore as opposed to Delhomme this weekend. I was kinda counting on Jakey boy to throw us a few picks to help us out. Not to mention that we just let perennial backup Chris Redman beat us in the Atlanta game.
My question is this; do you think John Fox is going to be let go after this season? Is there a grain of truth in the Bill Cowher rumors? If Fox is fired then how much of it will be attributed to his refusal to bench Jake the Flake (I’m going to copyright that one).

Personally I think Fox stays...
but somebody has to take the fall. OC Jeff Davidson should be replaced but I might stay too. I can’t imagine how ST Coach Danny Crossman survives, three straight years of being one of the three worst ST units in the league.

In your opinion, has Peppers earned the $16+MM deal he has this year?

Peppers has had some good games
…but $16M? Nope. I’m thinking he walks in the offseason

I can't imagine he starts with a broken finger
that would just be stupid…He couldn’t throw without a broke finger

Couple of questions for you Panthers guys
1) Is Dwayne Jarret ever gonna get it together?
2) Beason, how enjoyable has it been to watch this guy play?
3) Do you like how Fox and company utilize both D-Will and J-Stew (yea, I went there)?

1. Hard to say on Jarrett. The Panthers’ offense, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, is very run-oriented and thus doesn’t use many 3 WR sets. This means Jarrett doesn’t get out there that much. When he is, he does usually catch the ball when thrown to him. Getting separation has been an issue at times though.
2. Beason is a tackling machine. What hurts are some of the injuries on defense that a) mean he has to fight off O-line to make a play and b) the injury to Thomas Davis (weakside LB) that means Beason has to make more plays.
3. Generally yes. Was an issue earlier when Stewart was nicked up and still getting half the carries.
Hey guys
Good game this year, Good luck in the offseason and see ya guys next year.
