I'm worried
…if Matt Ryan can hit the soft spot between Talib and Piscitelli, the Piscitelli will need to make the tackle.
He has some poor technique and usually misses on the ‘one-on-ones’
They're pounding Turner, but good gap responsibility

until Bates could get his guys in there…but then the FO realized his particular shade of 2-gap scheme is crap and decided to roll with what they know. I’m not the biggest Bates guy, but the guy wasn’t given a full chance, fair or not fair. That said, am I secretly glad we’re going back to the Tampa 2? Yes.

For one, you make it that much easier for them to move down the field and take the lead. You also don’t want to give a lifeless, lethargic opponent a spark of life. Stick with being smart and punt the football.

We played better in all phases except offensive playcalling in my opinion (and the fake punt)

A bunch of those runs came when they were expecting run though. We were 23 passes to 11 runs at one point (with the lead)

Back to the drawing board. There were some good things today, but some bad things as well.

You know you're a crappy team
when you keep losing to crappy teams…and memo to Rah: We want to play like a “grown up team” like the NY Giants? The Giants suck Rah…please aim higher

Nice to see all the negatives storm the field
After we lose a close game which we played competitively in.
Guys, it wasnt play calling....
we just lost a close game, to a better team.
We didnt think we were better than Atlanta before this game started, so no reason to think that now.
We ran the ball for 2.8 yards per play. You cant want to run the ball more when thats all you get running the ball, or we would be saying PASS THE BALL more.
you cant say it was play calling just because the playcalling didnt work.
The fake punt was ballsy., but if we make it, we say its a great call.
Punting the ball doesnt guarantee we down it at the ten, it can easily go in the end zone, in that case, we gain a whole 18 yards. We did not lose the game because of that fake punt.
We played a better team very good, on the road.
The defense gives us a lot to look fwd too.
Josh Freeman is getting better and better, no INTS today.

I disagree on one thing.
I say we were the better team today. Just need to replace Dirk and give Trueblood pills. Also, they need to give Freeman security drills.
The playcalling early on was what let us score
We mixed pass and run much better. Then we got pass heavy in the 3rd quarter and didnt do much and got run heavy in the 4th quarter. Olsen mixed it up fine in the first half which let us go play action and move the chains. Its also when Caddy ran well. Once we went onesided, we got stagnant.

I agree...I see some serious positives coming out of this game..Within 3 more games I can see our D coming around nicely.
I can also see Freeman continuing to grow and giving us one helluva QB!
